Winnifred "Winnie" Jeanette was born on September 27, 1917 in Graceville, MN to parents Earl and Della (Bump) Layman. Winnie was baptized on March 24, 1918 in Graceville, MN. After graduating from Graceville in 1936, Winnie became clerk in the Graceville Drug Store collecting news for the Northern Star. On November 07, 1958, Winnie was united in marriage to Eddie Lahs in Graceville, MN.
Winnie enjoyed spoiling her grand children, playing cards of any kind, golfing, bowling, and fishing. She was a member of the American Legion Aux., the Graceville Womens Club, and UCC Ladies Aid.
Survivors includeSurvivors include Winnie's husband, Eddie Lahs; three sons, Quentin (Mary) Erickson, Richard (Nancy) Erickson, Marvin Erickson; two daughters, Sharon (Dennis) Zimbrich, and Carol Byrne; one stepson, Larry (Mary) Lahs; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; one step great-great grandchild two brothers, six sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
Winnifred was preceded in death by her father, Earl Layman, her mother, Della (Bump) Layman; brothers, Marvin Layman, Irvin Layman, William Layman, Jim Layman, and Earl Layman; and baby boy Layman.
