Wesley E. Olson was born on April 23, 1923 to parents, Arthur E. and Johanna E. (Rydahl) Olson in Clinton, MN. He attended Clinton Country School and graduated from Clinton High School. Following graduation, Wesley attended Tech School in Glenwood, MN for Radio. Later in life, Wesley would further his education by obtaining a teaching degree from the University of Minnesota in Morris and pursuing his Masters.
Wesley loved to tell the word of God. He was very active in the United Methodist Church in Clinton, MN, which he joined in 1936. He was a licensed lay speaker and would occasionally fill in for area ministers. Wesley enjoyed the bible study group he was a part of at the Prison in Appleton, MN, and he was very active in Gideon's. Another joy in Wesley's life, was writing books, and he even published a couple of them. After obtaining his teaching degree, Wesley filled in as a substitute teacher in area schools teaching history and political science. Wesley farmed north of Clinton until his retirement. He enjoyed growing his garden and sharing the produce with family, friends, and anyone in need.
Wesley passed away on Friday, March 25, 2005 at his home near Ortonville, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruby Olson; and a brother, Allen Olson. Wesley is survived by many cousins, extended family, and friends.
