Walter H. Marweg was born on January 7, 1913, on the family farm near Chokio, MN, to parents, John and Matilda Marweg. As a young boy, Walter was baptized and later confirmed into the Lutheran Faith and he attended country school near Chokio. Being an only child, Walter left school early to help his father on the farm.
On October 5, 1974, Walter married Florence Sanaker in Clinton, MN. Together the couple made their home in Clinton. While living in Clinton, Walter continued to farm, helping out on the Arens farm for 15 years before retiring in 1985.
When not behind the wheel of a tractor, Walter enjoyed playing cards and was always ready for a game with the cards he carried in his bib overalls. Quiet time was spent reading or widdling away on a piece of wood. Walter had a wonderful sense of humor and his zest for life will truly be missed by those that loved him and called him friend.
Walter passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2007 at the Grace Home in Graceville, MN, reaching the age of 94 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Matlida; and his wife, Florence.
Left to cherish Walter's memory are his step children, Karen (Gladwin) Walker; Barb (Morey) Gagnier; and Robert (Patty) Sanaker; four step grandchildren; and two step great grandchildren; as well as many friends.
