Walter Grimm

November 17, 1904 — April 16, 2005

Walter Adam Grimm was born on November 17, 1904, in Odessa Township, Big Stone County, to parents, Christian and Marie (Menth) Grimm. He was baptized on February, 19, 1905 and confirmed April 9, 1922 into the Lutheran Faith at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Odessa, MN. Walter attended county school district #36. In March 1931, Walter married Helen A. Olson.



Walter always wanted to farm and had rented land until he purchased his farm at Meadowbrook. In 1988, Walter moved to Ortonville and shortly thereafter to the house at 137 S.E. 1st St. He loved to garden and had a beautiful flower garden. He enjoyed going to the Senior Citizen Center for his noon meals and spending the afternoons playing cards with his friends. Walter?s health began to fail in August of 2004 when he entered the Northridge Residence Home, but insisted on coming back to the Senior Center on November 17th, to celebrate his 100th birthday with his friends.



Walter passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2004, at the Northridge Residence in Ortonville, MN. He had reached the age of 100. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Alma Dawald and Christina Arndt; four brothers, Fred, Henry, Edward, and Herman Grimm.



Walter is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
