Vivian Clark

Funeral Services for Vivian Clark, age 92, of Graceville, will be on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Beardsley, MN. Visitation will be Monday evening, August 20, from 5 – 7 p.m. at the church and also one hour prior to the services on Tuesday. Rev. Anna Williamson will be officiating and burial will be in the Clinton City Cemetery.

Vivian Charlotte Clark was born on February 13, 1920 to parents Frank and Gertrude (Hanson) Kellner in Minneapolis, MN. She grew up in the Graceville and Beardsley area and attended country schools through the 6th grade. During WWII, Vivian worked for Boeing Aircraft in Seattle, WA as a mechanic, returning home when the war was over.

On August 24, 1947, Vivian was united in marriage to Roy Justis Clark in Beardsley, MN. To this union five children were born. They made their home and farmed south of Barry, MN, where she entered fully into all the jobs of a farmwife, whether that was helping Roy fix machinery or building her own kitchen cabinets!

Vivian enjoyed gardening, especially growing flowers. She spent time doing craftwork, sewing, and working puzzles. She had a special gift for working with animals and cared for a variety of pets. Most importantly, she always listened to those sharing their lives with her.

Vivian passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at her home, having reached the age of 92 years.

Cherishing Vivian's memory are her children: Frank Clark of Graceville; Raymond (Susan) Clark of Clinton; Alvah Clark of Graceville; Helen (Kevin) Peterson of Cottonwood, MN; daughter-in-law, Norma Clark of Graceville; six grandchildren: Kenneth Clark of Clinton, Keith (Amber) Clark or Sauk Centre, MN, Katherine Clark of Granite Falls, MN, Kristy (Tehran) Winston of Clinton, Mike (Lora) Clark of Clinton, and Amy (Dean) Vandekeift of Glenwood, MN; five great grandchildren; and one brother, Melvin Schuttoff, formerly of Beardsley, MN.

Vivian is preceded in death by her husband, Roy, in 1978; her son, Norman, in 2010; her brothers: Norman Kellner, Kenneth Kellner, and Harry Bender; and her sister, Marie Kaplor.
