Vanessa Evenson

Vanessa Evenson, age 32, of Ortonville, MN, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, on May 2, 2021, at Ortonville Area Health Services.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 7, at Living Hope Fellowship Church in Ortonville.

Vanessa Fae Evenson was born on June 7, 1988, in Bismarck, ND, to Tim and Mary (Wanek) Evenson. She grew up and attended schools in Sidney and Plentywood, MT. Vanessa also attended school in Newcastle, WY. She graduated from Breckenridge High School in Breckenridge, MN. Vanessa was sometimes the first disabled student to attend public school in her communities in Montana and Wyoming; because of her persistence and perseverance, she set the precedence for other disabled students who followed.

One of Vanessa’s favorite pastimes was listening to books on tape: true-life stories, and especially history were her favorites. She enjoyed listening to classical music. Vanessa loved the Lord, and she loved going to worship and making a joyful noise. She looked forward to warm weather when she could bask outside in the summer sun.

Vanessa was proud to be able to donate her hair several times to Locks of Love.

Vanessa is survived by her mother, Mary Evenson of Ortonville, MN; father, Tim Evenson of Garrison, ND; sister, Jessica Evenson of Chaska, MN; brother, Mike Evenson of Newcastle, WY; nieces and nephews: Brooklyn, Dayne, Sierra, Owen, Anna, Savannah.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Ron and Joanne Evenson, and Walter and Betty Wanek.
