Trudy Anderson, age 71, of Clinton, MN, died on July 18, 2020, at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

A small funeral service will be held for Trudy with her immediate family at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2020, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton. There will be a public visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2020, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton. A prayer service with Minister Jim Rach will begin at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Burial will take place at Tabor Lutheran Cemetery in Strandburg, SD. The service will be livestreamed and recorded and will be viewable on this website.

While maintaining social distancing guidelines, we are now able to accommodate gatherings of up to 250 people. The use of face masks by attendees is recommended, and we will continue taking the necessary steps to keep our facility clean. For those who prefer or require continued precautions, webcasting and/or livestreaming is available in most situations.

Trudy Ann (Johnson) Anderson was born on January 20, 1949, in Watertown, SD, to Raymond and Helen (Bufold) Johnson. She attended school and graduated from Strandburg High School in 1967. After high school, Trudy moved to the Twin Cities area and married Gary Amunrud. Together, the couple had two children: Julie and Troy. Trudy was united in marriage with Larry Anderson in 1987. Larry and Trudy lived on the farm near Clinton since their marriage.

Besides being a mother and raising her two children, Trudy was a hard worker and held many jobs. She worked at Milbank Mutual Insurance, Big Stone Cheese Factory, and as a farm wife. Trudy was active in Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton, where she was active in the Quilting Club and part of the Trinity Lutheran Women’s Circle.

Trudy was an avid gardener and loved to spend time in her flower beds. Every year she grew pumpkins for her grandchildren. She was also a terrific baker known for her apple pies and breakfast rolls. Trudy had the gift of sewing, quilting, and crafting. She even had the patience and expertise to teach her grandchildren to sew, quilt, and garden. When Trudy wasn’t spending time with her family, she loved to travel with her husband, Larry.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Larry of Clinton, MN; children: Julie (Eugene) Mielitz of Watertown, SD; and Troy (Andrea) Amunrud of Fergus Falls, MN; step-son, Daniel (Genevieve) Anderson of New Ulm, MN; grandchildren: Samantha (Nathan) Miller, Dylan Mielitz, Jamie Mielitz, Hannah Mielitz, Alex Amunrud, Nicholas (Carli) Amunrud, and Rachel Amunrud; great-grandchildren: Hadalynn Miller, Remillie Miller, Rylence Miller, and Henley Miller; sisters: Betty (Bob) Oster of Woodbine, IA; and Laura Heiman of Milbank, SD; brother, Steven (Beverly) Johnson of Omaha, NE; along with many nieces and nephews.

Trudy was preceded in death by her parents: Raymond and Helen Johnson.

Memorials are preferred to Tabor Lutheran Church in Strandburg, SD.
