Travis VanVeen, age 31, of Milbank died on Friday,
February 9, 2007, at his home.
Funeral services for Travis Van Veen will begin at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2007, in the American Lutheran Church in Milbank with Reverend Craig Werling and Reverend Janine Rew-Werling officiating. The organist will be Carol Ydstie. Casket Bearers will be Chris Cordell, Arnie Veen, Dennis Amberg, Justin Van Veen, Kirk Steege, and Barry Johnson Visitation will be at the Emanuel-Patterson Funeral Home in Milbank on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. and in the church Monday one hour before services. Burial will be in the Milbank City Cemetery.
Travis James Van Veen, the son of Dave and Carmen Behlings Van Veen was born on November 29, 1975 in Sioux Falls, SD. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith. Travis attended all the Milbank Schools and graduated from Lincoln High in June 1994. He was united in marriage to Bridgette Foxx on November 4, 1994 in Milbank. Travis resided in Milbank and lived in Brookings for four and half years before returning to Milbank. For much of Travis' life he was an over the road truck driver but his last employment was with KDLT News in Sioux Falls.
Travis enjoyed nature and the outdoors including hunting and fishing and all outdoors activities. One of his favorite past times was archery. Travis cherished his family very much and the time spent with them were very special to him.
He is survived by his wife, Bridgette; children, Autumn Brooke Van Veen, Kristen Lee Van Veen, and twins, Tara Lynn and Joseph Nicholas Van Veen, all of Milbank; his parents, Dave and Carmen Van Veen of Milbank; his brother and sister in law, Jeremy and Kelly Van Veen of Aberdeen, SD. nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Matthew James Van Veen and his grandparents.
