Thomas Finberg

July 3, 1940 — April 17, 2010

Thomas Kent Finberg, the son of John Russell and Gertrude Naomi (Davick) Finberg was born July 3, 1940 in Clinton, Minnesota. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1958.

After graduation he went to the Minneapolis area where he held several jobs; including an anodizer, platter, long haul driver and motor home delivery and set up.

Tom returned to Clinton in 1975 where he worked for the Clinton Shipping Association, Kashmark Trucking and Finberg Trucking.

Tom was united in marriage to Darlene Louise Erdman on June 30, 1979. They were blessed with two sons, Jake and Justin. Tom also had two sons Russell and Kent from a previous union.

In life Tom loved his wife and children and spent much time with grandson Dylan. Tom enjoyed all of his grandkids and his four furry companions: Sadie, Dixie, Tulip and Biscuit.

People would see Tom tooling around about on his scooter, which he had great fun with. He joking called it his “Harly”. Tom loved people and visiting. He enjoyed morning coffee at Bill Christles before he passed away. The loss of so many of his friends and family these last years was hard for Tom but he didn’t give up. He began having coffee and visiting at KJ’s and visiting Jake. He always had time to help others and always had time to chat.

His favorite thing of all was being home and puttering in his shop or in the yard with Dolly, or watching TV together in the evening, while he played card games on the computer.

Tom left this life for a better one on Saturday, April 17, 2010 reaching the age of 69 years and 9 months. He will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Dolly of 31 years; sons, Jake (Kari) Finberg of Clinton, MN, Justin Finberg of Canby, MN, Russell (Leona) Finberg of Fort Worth, TX., Kent (Gail) Finberg of Farmington, MN; 5 grandsons, 1 granddaughter; 1 brother, Lee (Judy) Finberg of New Freedom, WI; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Gertrude and John; step-father William Christles; and 3 brothers: John, Neal and David.
