Memorial services for Thelma Rose Wilcox, age 74, of Ortonville, MN will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2004 at the Living Hope Fellowship Assembly of God in Ortonville, MN. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at the Larson Funeral Home in Ortonville. Visitation will continue one-hour prior the service at the church.



Thelma Rose Elmer was born on December 30, 1929 in Yuma, Arizona to parents Claude and Rose (King) Elmer. Throughout Thelma's life she moved to several different places. They finally settled in Gallup, NM where she attended nursing school in Albuquerque, NM. Thelma worked as an RN in New Mexico.



In 1955, Thelma was married to James Wilcox. They moved to several countries with the U.S. Air Force. Thelma?s favorite place was England. She took time off from nursing to raise her family. In the late 1970?s she reinstated her RN license and worked in a nursing home in Florida until becoming disabled in 1989 forcing her retirement. In 1995, Thelma lived with her daughter Sue and her family, moving wherever the family's employment took them. In 1999 they moved to the Ortonville area.



On November 14, 2004, Thelma passed away at the Ortonville Hospital, reaching the age of 74 years, 11 months, and 16 days.



Survivors include two sons, Don Wilcox of Grand Prairie, TX, and Mark (Judy) Wilcox of Winona, TX; one daughter, Sue (Carl) Ware of Ortonville, MN; four grandchildren, Kilo Marie (James) Eckberg, Jeremy-Lee Ware, Koby Ware, and Katie Rose Ware. Thelma is also survived by two brothers, Carl (Ginger) Elmer of Farmington, NM and Lee (Donna) Elmer of Leavenworth, KS.



Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; ten children in infancy; and one brother, Lyle Elmer.
