Funeral services for Terry Taylor will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Ortonville. Visitation will be held at the church Thursday evening, August 8, from 5 – 7 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 7 and continue one hour prior to the service on Friday. Reverend John Ragan will officiate.
Terry Allen Taylor was born on February 2, 1958, in Echo, Minnesota to Alvin and Mary (Bott) Taylor. He was baptized at Hazel Run Lutheran Church in Hazel Run, Minnesota and confirmed at First English Lutheran Church in Tyler, Minnesota. Terry graduated in 1976 from Ortonville High School.
Terry and LeAnn Marie Gruenwald were married on October 27, 1979, at St. John's Catholic Church in Ortonville. To this union two children were born.
Terry and LeAnn made their home in Ortonville, Minnesota. Terry first worked at Taylor's Grain and Feed in Ortonville with his father, later working for the Ortonville Farmer's Co-op and the Wilmot Elevator. For the past several years, Terry had been employed by Bituminous Paving, Inc.
In his spare time, Terry enjoyed fishing, wood carving, chess, cards, and music. He was teaching himself how to play the guitar. The light and love of his life, however, was hanging out with "the dude", his grandson, Connor.
Terry died as the result of a vehicular accident on August 5, 2013, having reached the age of 55.
Cherishing his memory are his wife, LeAnn Taylor of Ortonville, MN; his children: Kristen (Jeremy) Ohm of Ortonville, MN; Kyle Taylor of Alexandria, MN; his grandson, Connor Ohm, and soon to be Grandbaby Ohm; his parents, Al and Mary Taylor of Tyler, MN; his siblings: Rick (Deb) Taylor of Sheldon, ND; Dan Taylor of Faribault, MN; and Lori Trump of Canby, MN; his parents-in-law, Roger and Phyllis Gruenwald of Big Stone City, SD; his sisters and brothers-in-law: John and Linda Hausauer of Minnetonka, MN; David and Dawn Gruenwald of Ortonville, MN; and Shelly and Gary Fredrichsen of Big Stone City, SD; 17 nieces and nephews; five great nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Norman and Kathleen Bott, and Earl and Christina Taylor.
