Tammi Amberg

Tammi Lynn Amberg, age 37, of Knoxville, TN, passed away Sunday, July 15th, 2012. Tammi graduated in 1993 from Ortonville, High School in Ortonville, Minnesota and later graduated from North Dakota State University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in education. She worked for Melrose High School in Melrose, Minnesota and Pine River-Backus High School and lived in Brainerd, Minnesota. Her thoughts by this time turned toward living in a warmer climate and avoiding Minnesota winters. She moved to Knoxville and began working for the Knox County School System as a High School English teacher until the time of her death when she lost her battle with cancer. Her students were extremely important to her and teaching was her passion and in 2011, she was voted by her colleagues as Teacher of the Year for 2012. She had many special friends, most all of whom were teachers and in the summer of 2011, she, fellow teachers and friends took a trip to Ireland. She lived with Debra Wright from Knoxville, TN for the past several years. She is survived by her parents; Arnold and Mildred Amberg of Ortonville, Minnesota; sister Michelle Oertel (Ryan) of Prior Lake, Minnesota and nephew Justin Oertel of Prior Lake, Minnesota.
