Tammy Adelman, age 52 of Corona, SD, passed away on September 6, 2023, in Sioux Falls, SD.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Milbank. Father Brian Eckrich will celebrate the Mass. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A prayer vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Tuesday, one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will be in the Milbank City Cemetery.

The service will be livestreamed and recorded and viewable below this obituary.

The urn bearer will be Tammy’s brother, Kyle Adelman. Honorary bearers will be her nieces and nephews: Seth Kramer, Shelby Kramer, Jordan Adelman, Jackson Adelman, Jadan Adelman, Nathaniel Healy, and Reece Wojahn.

Tammy Lynn Adelman was born on August 20, 1971, in Fargo, ND. She was lovingly adopted by her parents: Dale and Pamela (Dockter) Adelman. Tammy grew up in Milbank. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. She graduated from Milbank High School with the Class of 1989. Tammy continued her education in human services at Lake Area Tech. in Watertown, SD.

Tammy was a loving caregiver all her life. She loved to make others smile. She worked at the South Dakota School for the Blind and loved the time she experienced there. She worked as a CNA at St. William’s Care Center in Milbank and at Fairway View in Ortonville, MN. She was happy and always had a positive attitude about her. She never wanted to be a burden to anyone and always put others first.

Tammy adored her granddaughters: Riley and Addie. They brought her great joy and pride. She was blessed to have shared 17 happy years with Richard “J.R.” Buttke. They enjoyed deer hunting together and camping. She loved living the “country life” on their rural Corona farm.

Tammy was a faithful Minnesota Vikings fan. She and her son, Cole, enjoyed watching and cheering.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Kaylee Adelman (Tyler Kriech) of Waubay, SD; and Cole Adelman of Watertown, SD; two granddaughters: Riley and Addie, (and one on the way);  her fiancé, J.R. Buttke of Corona, SD; her parents: Dale and Pam Adelman of Milbank, SD; siblings: Kyle (Renea) Adelman of Boyceville, WI; and Tara Healy of Milbank, SD, and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Tammy was preceded in death by her grandparents: Harold and Dorothy Dockter; and Jerome and Erna Adelman.
