SuAnn Strubbe

SuAnn Strubbe, 73, of Graceville, MN, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at her home in Graceville. 

Services will be held at a later date.

SuAnn Marie (Splain) Strubbe was born on July 30, 1951, in Lincoln, NE. She was the daughter of Virgil and Arlene (Link) Splain. SuAnn grew up in Lincoln. At age 16, she moved to York, NE, where she attended school through the eleventh grade. She attended night school and completed her GED. SuAnn was married in Henderson, NE, in 1969, where they lived for a short time. The family moved around a bit. Her son, Jeremy, was born in 1971, in Colorado and her daughter, Paula, was born in 1975, in York, NE. 

SuAnn met Greg through a mutual friend at the bowling alley. They met again when she rode along “flagging” gears that go with house moving trucks. She rode in the truck with Greg…and the rest is history! They were united in marriage on September 24, 2005, in Thayer, NE.

SuAnn had several jobs over the years, including: waitress, factory work in electronics, CNA, support manager at Walmart, dry-cleaner employee, and flagger along trucks. She was raised in the Catholic faith. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in York, NE.

SuAnn enjoyed camping and fishing. She loved her flower garden, especially the day lilies and impatiens. She liked to put together puzzles during the winter months and do crafts. She was a volunteer in the kitchen at the Senior Center.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Gregory Strubbe of Graceville, MN; her children: Jeremy and Paula; her siblings: Yvonne Schreurs (Brian Gaffney), Doug (June) Splain, Erle (Faye) Splain, and Paul (Carolyn) Splain. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dean Splain.
