Shirley Beachem

Funeral services for Shirley Beachem will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Living Hope Fellowship – Assembly of God in Ortonville with Pastor David Homrighausen officiating. Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the Mundwiler & Larson Funeral Home in Ortonville with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Saturday.

Shirley Ann Beachem passed away peacefully at the age of 78, on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.

Shirley was born on May 8, 1936, in Watertown, SD, to Neil Everet and Mary Agnes (Franklin) Lunderville. The family lived in Billings, MT; Northern MN, and Ortonville, MN before settling in Milbank, SD where she graduated with the class of 1955.

On June 17, 1958, Shirley married her sweetheart, Norvin Ray Beachem at the Calvary Assembly of God church in Milbank. Together they had six children and raised them on a dairy farm northeast of Ortonville. Shirley could often be found in the kitchen cooking and baking for the men working on the farm, church friends, and family. Shirley loved baking and sharing her baked goods with others; her other favorite pastimes were reading, knitting, and crocheting.

Shirley loved Jesus more than anything and wanted everyone to know Him as their personal Lord and Savior. She strived to be more like Jesus every day. She was an active member of the First Assembly of God church since 1974, and enjoyed teaching Sunday school and working with children. Shirley had a great love for God and for her family, whom she adored spending time with.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Norvin Beachem of Ortonville; children: Darwin (LuAnn) Beachem of Mora, MN; Gwen (Jack) Whitley of Ortonville; Paul (Lori) Beachem of Marshall, MN; April Beachem of Burnsville, MN; Beth (Steve) Grube of North Branch, MN; and Nathan (Renae) Beachem of Roseville, MN; ten grandchildren: Erin, Erica, Carly, Megan, Karl, Hannah, Caleb, Josh, Claire, and Chloe; six great-grandchildren: Trey, Jeriah, Jaida, Dakota, Ryder, and Rowdy; siblings: Marge (Duane) Liebe of Milbank; Karen (Steve) Vaudrey of Milbank; Sandy (Dennis) Mattson of Huntsville, TX; Phyllis (Lyle) Schultz of Milbank; Rona (Rod) Mullenberg of Milbank; and Nyla (Gregg) Daggett of Fairfield, CA; and many brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Neil and Mary Lunderville; brothers, Bill and Chuck; and sister, Mary Johnson.
