Sharon Julette Unterkircher was born to Leonard and Clarice Hagedorn on February 16, 1942 in Milbank, South Dakota. She graduated from Marietta High School in 1960. Upon graduation she moved to Minneapolis and began working at a nursing home.

Sharon was united in marriage to Joseph Charles Drinnin on December 16, 1961. They were blessed with one son, Larry. Charles died on January 15, 1965 due to complications from a car accident. At that time Sharon and Larry moved back to the Ortonville and Bellingham area, where they remained until Sharon remarried.

On September 27, 1971 Sharon married Homer Unterkircher. They made their home in Minneapolis until 1973 and then moved to Michigan. They both enjoyed being ham radio operators – her license was WD8DQO and Homer's was WD8DQP. During this time Sharon also took instruction and soloed a single engine airplane. Sharon was employed as a secretary until she could no longer work due to Multiple Sclerosis.

Homer died on May 27, 1992 from Multiple Myeloma. In July of that year Sharon moved to Florida and lived with a special friend, Philip Straw, until his death on September 27, 2001. She continued to live in Florida with her son until 2006 and then they moved back to Ortonville so she could be closer to her sisters and brother.

Sharon died on June 19, 2013 at Northridge Residence in Ortonville, Minnesota, having reached the age of 71.

Cherishing her memory is her son, Larry Drinnin of Ortonville, her sisters: Sue (Joe) McMahon of Big Stone City, South Dakota; Shirley Richardson of Big Stone City, South Dakota; and Darla (Gary) Leek of Belvidere, Illinois; her brother, Roger (Jeanette) Hagedorn of Stacy, Minnesota; her special friend from high school, Jackie Welberg of Ortonville, Minnesota; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; and her niece, Kristine Leek.
