Rosy Sandro

Private Graveside services for Rosy Sandra will be held. Rosy died on Saturday, August, 13, 2011 at Northridge Residence in Ortonville, MN. She had lived to reach the age of 100 years.

Rosy Virginia Moen Sandro was born on October 19, 1910 in rural Hammer, Grant Co. South Dakota to parents Herman and Hannah (Kleven) Moen. She grew up in the New Effington, SD area where she attended Hammer Elementary School and New Effington High School.

After graduation, Rosy attended Northern University in Aberdeen, SD and the University of South Dakota in Madison, SD where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Teaching.

On June 6, 1935, she was united in marriage to Gustav Sandro at her parent's home in rural Hammer, South Dakota. To this union, they were blessed with three children: Marcia, Keith and Grant.

Rosy started teaching in a country school. She then taught elementary grades in Big Stone City, Revillo and Clear Lake, South Dakota.

Rosy is survived by her children: Marcia Sandra of Ortonville, MN and Grant (Sharon Engebretson) Sandro of Chico, California, 5 grandchildren; 6 great-granchildren.

Rosy is preceded in death by her husband Gustav Sandro; son and daughter-in-law Kathy (Flanery) Sandro; and one grandchild Kirsten (Sandro) Rausch.
