Ronald D. Kerstein was born on March 3, 1928 to Fred and Hazel (Anderson) Kerstein at the family farm in Malta Township, MN. He attended school through the eighth grade at District 10 in Malta Township. He attended Clinton High School, graduating in 1946. He farmed with his father. After his father?s death in 1962 he continued farming until 1974. After moving to Clinton he drove truck for the Clinton Shipping Association and worked for several farmers while caring for his mother as a devoted son. Throughout his life, Ronald was always a very hard and tireless worker. He entered the Clinton Good Samaritan Center in the early 1990?s where he resided until transferring to Northridge Residence in Ortonville in early 2007.
He was an avid reader, having read many thousands of books and magazines. He enjoyed playing cards, working crossword puzzles and assisting residents at the home. He will be missed by all those who called him friend.
Ronald passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2007 at Northridge Residence in Ortonville, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Hazel (Anderson) Kerstein; his brother and sister-in-law, Wilfred and Myrna Kerstein; and nephew, Kerry.
Ronald is survived by his brother, Merlyn Kerstein; nieces, Darlene (Lynn) Seppman and Diana Nielson; cousins, Robert (Ruth) Kerstein, Connie (Richard) Anderson, and Nancy (Jack) Zummach, in addition to many more relatives and friends.
