Ronald Bohn

Ron Bohn, age 69, of Milbank, died July 3, 2018, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 9 at 10:30 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank.  Rev. Tim Rynearson will officiate and burial will be in the Milbank Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, at Mundwiler Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m.  Visitation will continue at the church on Monday, one hour prior to the service.  Casket bearers will be: Paul Hicks, Lloyd Tillma, Neal Mielitz, Landen Nelson, Don Boh, and Lucas Bohn.  Honorary bearers will be: Millstone Coffee Crew; all friends and relatives; Tom Kasuske, Bill Schuler, Gene Koch, Robert Hicks, and John Hicks.  The organist will be Kristy Tostenson.

Ronald Eugene Bohn was born on October 28, 1948, in Milbank, SD.  He was the son of Louis Herman and Laura Mae (Hall) Bohn.  Ron attended rural school in Melrose Township through the eighth grade.    He was united in marriage with Brenda Smith on April 8, 1978.  They were blessed with a daughter, Valerie.  Ron worked in the quarry at Dakota Granite Company before beginning his farm career with the Hicks Family Farm.  Ron farmed for 44 years.  He also had a lawn care and snow moving business, taking care of many customers, including Valley Queen Cheese Factory. He was united in marriage with Gladys Edith Powell on  May 27, 2004, in Watertown, SD.

Ron was a faithful member of Emanuel Lutheran Church.  He enjoyed his “toys” – especially his Razor ATV.    He loved coffee time at the Millstone Restaurant, and enjoyed all the conversations.  He was a man of many words.  You never had to wonder what Ron was thinking, because he told you!  Most importantly, Ron loved his family and enjoyed every minute spent with them.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Gladys of Milbank, SD; daughter and son-in-law: Val and Lonnie Nelson of Summit, SD; three grandchildren: Landen, Kylie, and Karter Nelson; three brothers: Donald Bohn (Wanda Giossi) of Milbank, SD; Larry (Barb) Bohn of Twin Brooks, SD; and Robert Bohn of Brookings, SD.  Ron was preceded in death by his parents.
