Robert Gene Ringger was born on January 15, 1938, in Mondovi, Wisconsin. He was the son of Melvin and Anga (Quarberg) Ringger. In 1941 and at the age of three, Robert moved with his family to a farm near Dumont, MN. Robert would remain on this farm for almost his entire life. He attended District 59 Country School and graduated from Graceville High School. He continued his education at the University of Minnesota, St. Paul, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science.

Robert served in the Army National Guard, 175th Charlie Battalion.

Robert was united in marriage with Margaret Marie Wulff on September 26, 1964, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Johnson, MN. They made their home on the Ringger family homestead. They were blessed with two children: Dana Margaret and Daniel Robert.

Robert loved his career in farming. He was a grain farmer and raised livestock, farming until he was 81 years old. He enjoyed the company of his friends. Together, they spent many hours hunting, fishing, golfing, and bowling. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was still able to crawl on the floor with them! During the past 20 years, Robert tremendously enjoyed woodworking. He built mission style furniture. He never sold his pieces but took great pleasure in gifting them to others. His family will cherish the beautiful furniture that he made.
