He attended Springdale Township Country School which was less than a mile from his house. He later attended school in Wilmot and graduated from Wilmot High School with the Class of 1956.

On September 20, 1959, Bob was united in marriage with Beverly Monserud at Marvin, SD. Together, they were blessed with three boys: James, David, and Michael.

Always a hard worker, Bob worked on the farm his entire life. He also did machine work and restored many tractors. In 2013, Bob and Bev built a new house in Wilmot and moved there.

Bob was very active in his community, serving on the school board, the elevator board, on the park board in Arizona, and was the Springdale Township Supervisor for many years. He was also an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Wilmot and served on various church boards.

When Bob wasn’t busy farming or participating in community activities, he enjoyed spending time at Enemy Swim Lake. Bob and Bev also pulled a fifth-wheel camper to different places they traveled. Bob and Bev enjoyed spending their winters in Arizona.
