Richard Graham

November 17, 1925 — October 6, 2007

Richard Graham was born on November 17, 1925, on the family farm, to parents, George and Ellen (O'Neil) Graham. As a boy, Richard was baptized and received his first communion in the Church of St. Mary in Beardsley, MN. He attended country school and finished his education by attending Ag School in Morris, MN.

Following his education, Richard enlisted with the Marines where he served his country. While in the Marines, Richard spent most of his deployment on a ship on the coasts of Japan. Upon his honorable discharge, Richard returned home to Beardsley, to farm.

In 1968, Richard was united in marriage to Patricia Sears at the Church of St. Mary in Beardsley. Together the couple made their home on a farm in Traverse County where they continued to live raising livestock and grain until they retired and moved to Beardsley in 2005.

Dick loved life on the farm and enjoyed seeing the fruits of his labor when it came to harvest time in the fall. When not busy working in the field or tending to his live stock, Dick treasured time spent with family and friends.

Dick was a member of the Church of St. Mary and the Knights of Columbus as well as a member of the August Altheide American Legion Post #302 in Beardsley, He will be truly missed by those that loved him and called him friend.

Richard passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2007, at the Rosholt Care Center in Rosholt, SD, reaching the age of 81 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ellen; one sister, Mary Ellen Redlin; and one brother, Hugh Graham.

Left to cherish Dick's memory is his wife, Patricia; one brother, Robert Graham and Bess; one brother-in-law, Ron (Mary) Sears; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
