Randy McEwen

Mundwiler & Larson Funeral Home of Ortonville announces the death of Randy McEwen, age 63, of Ortonville, MN Randy passed away Monday, September 10, 2012.

Services will be held on Friday, September 14, 2012, at 10:30 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Ortonville. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 13, 2012, from 5-7:00 PM at the Mundwiler & Larson Funeral Home in Ortonville with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday. Rev. Dr. John Ragan will be officiating and burial will be at Mound Cemetery.

Randall Lee McEwen was born on March 22, 1949, in Ortonville, MN, to Orville and Andrena McEwen. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church. Randy graduated from Ortonville High School in 1967. In 1974 he graduated from Moorhead State University with a degree in business. For the past 17 years, he lived in Ortonville and had been the owner of Business Development and Consulting, which focused on finding investors for energy and environmental businesses.

Randy was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Ortonville, where he sang for many years in the choir and served on the church council. He had been a member of the Moose Lodge #407 since 2002.

Randy enjoyed singing, golfing, and fishing. However, his greatest gift to the world was that he was a people person – he was able to connect with everyone he met. His enthusiasm for life will be greatly missed!

Cherishing Randy's memory is his mother, Andrena McEwen of Ortonville; his brothers: Craig (Leita) McEwen of West Fargo, ND; Royce (Pat) McEwen of Burnsville, MN; and Brent McEwen of Fargo, ND; his nieces: Christy (Garret) Roach, Jessica (Brett) Wigglesworth, Kelly (Mark) Keeler and Aimee McEwen; and his nephew, Ross McEwen.

Randy's family suggests that memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or the Big Stone County Cancer Support Group.
