Ralph Alfonso Jipson was born on May 30, 1914 to Harry and Ysabelle (Swan) Jipson in Moneta, Iowa. Ralph was the oldest of five children. He attended township school outside Royal, Iowa through the eighth grade; at which time he quit school to work on the family farm. Due to the Great Depression Ralph's parents moved with their 5 children to Chokio, Minnesota. After moving to the Chokio area Ralph's brother Pete passed away from pneumonia followed three months later by the death of his father.

On October 14, 1936 Ralph was united in marriage to his soul mate Belva Mae Cook from rural Herman, MN. This was the beginning of an everlasting love; a special love that many could only hope for. Their marriage was blessed with five children, Jeanne, Jerry, Eileen, Harry and Dennis.

After 8 years of farming in Chokio, Ralph and Belva made their home on "The Farm" north of Graceville, MN where they lived for over 60 years. Ralph farmed with the help of his wife Belva. Farming was never a chore for Ralph it was a passion. Other things they enjoyed on the farm were gardening, many nights of card playing, horses, and visiting with family and friends. Their doors were always open to anyone who stopped by and rarely did anyone leave without coming in for lunch and a nice chat. When it was time to leave, one never left without being walked to their car which usually turned into another 15 minute visit.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Belva. Two sons Jerry (Annie) Jipson and Dennis (Dee) Jipson. Six granddaughters; Debbie (Dan) Walters, Jane (Steve) O'Connor, Kay (Don) Litch, Lori (Randy) Fehr, Amy (special friend Jackson) Jipson and Rachel Jipson. Ten grandsons; James (Karla) Jerpseth, Bruce (Melody) Jerpseth, Craig (Alicia) Jerpseth, Steve Jipson, Alan (Mary Jo) Boehning, Scott (Frances) Boehning, Derek (Tracy) Jipson, Adam (Sherry) Jipson, Andrew (fiancAC. Kendra) Jipson and Anthony Satran. Thirty-two great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Ralph is also survived by one brother Fayette (Mary) Jipson and two sisters, Myrta Diehl and Lillian (Leo) Benham.
