Patrick Michael McMahon, the son of Robert and Sandra (Jahn) McMahon, was born September 30, 1964 in Sioux City, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Catholic Church in Ortonville, MN. He attended and graduated in 1983, from Ortonville High School.
After graduation he went to Alaska and worked on the Pipeline until 1988. He returned home and was united in marriage to Lisa Chase July 14, 1990. They were blessed with a daughter, Bailey. Pat loved his daughter, Bailey Nikole, she was his life. He ached for her and missed her very much. This was the only feeling Pat never was afraid to share.
Pat started his own trucking business, in 1988 until 1994 when he went into carpentry in Odessa, MN. Pat was diagnosed with “Picks Disease” and went to a group home in Willmar, MN. He later in 2003 moved to a home in Morris, MN. Febuary 2009 he moved to Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck.
Pat enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding horse. He enjoyed wrestling in high school. He loved attending hockey games with his daughter. The things his family remembers most about Patrick are: His love of life and people, always happy and friendly, willing to give a hand, love teasing children, liked to show people how to do things, did things to make mom mad just so he could laugh at her, and Pat was never still, he was always moving. Pat passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the Minnewaska Home in Starbuck, MN. He will be missed by all his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Bailey McMahon of Allen, Nebraska; parents, Robert and Sandra McMahon of Odessa, MN; brothers, Robert Jr. (Karen) McMahon of Ortonville, MN, Jeff McMahon of Ortonville, MN, Tim McMahon of Odessa, MN; sisters, Debra (Dennis) Braun of Mesa, AZ, Teresa (Larry) Snyder of Gainsville, TX, Melissa Pederson of Ortonville, MN, Heather (Nathan) Koch of Wheaton, MN; a good friend and mother of their daughter, Lisa (Chase) Gunsolley; many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by grandparents, Doris and Cliff Powell, Fredrick Jahn, Robert and Laura McMahon.
