Patricia Murray

Funeral Services for Patricia "Patsy" Murray, age 71, of Graceville, MN will be held on Friday, March 16, at 10:30 AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Graceville, MN. Visitation will be held in the Mundwiler and Larson Funeral Chapel in Graceville on Thursday evening, March 15, from 5 – 8 PM, with a Prayer Service at 6:30 PM. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday. Father David Breu will be officiating and burial will be in the Consolidated Cemetery.

Patricia Marie Murray was born on July 7, 1940, in the Graceville Hospital, to parents Joseph and Mary (Dwyer) McDonnell. She attended Graceville Public Schools. On September 2, 1958, she was united in marriage to Donald Murray. Together they raised five children, living in Graceville their entire lives. Donald passed away on March 8, 1998.

Patsy enjoyed watching Don race stock cars for many years. They did a lot of snowmobiling and they loved to spend time at the lake and fish. She enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino, working in her flower gardener, and listening to Patsy Cline music. Mostly, Patsy was an ultimate caregiver. She was more concerned about her family, friends and neighbors than she was for herself, even at the end of life. Patsy's greatest pleasures were the times she shared with her family, especially making memories with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Patsy passed away Wednesday morning, March 14, 2012, 34 years to the day after her own mother's passing. She had lived to reach the age of 71 years.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don; an infant child; her son-in-law James Ritter; and her sisters: Barb McNally and Arlene Thompson.

Left with her loving memory are her children: Dennis (Linda Layman) Murray of Graceville; Dean (Diane Hills) Murray of Graceville; Bonnie Ritter of Detroit Lakes, MN; Dave (Julie) Murray of Mahtomedi, MN; and Danny (Barb) Murray of Sartell, MN; Grandchildren: Kandra (Brian) Carlson; Jeff (Kristi) Ritter; Tammy (Rick) Ness; Kim Ritter; Shaun (Elienette) Ritter; Michael (Angie) Murray; Christy (Mike) Schmidt; Charlie (Michelle) Murray; and Nick Murray; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers: Joseph (Janice) McDonnell; William (Deb) McDonnell; Richard Anderson; Darrell (Doris) Anderson; and Doug Anderson; her sisters: Connie Hagen, Linda (Donnie) Nitz; Melody (Dave) Steffes; Diane Laub; and Karen (Tom) Oakes.
