Ortonville

Patricia "Patty" Christiansen, 66, of Ortonville, MN, passed on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at her home in Ortonville.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Mundwiler & Larson Funeral Home in Ortonville, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Pastor Dave Tonn will officiate.

Patricia “Patty” Jean Christiansen was born on December 12, 1957, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Lorna Greene and was lovingly adopted by Lawrence “Larry” Christiansen. Patty spent her entire life in Minnesota, moving to various towns throughout the years, but ultimately making Ortonville her home. Patty grew up surrounded by her three sisters with whom she shared countless cherished memories: Cathy, Mickey, and Stephanie. Her childhood was filled with love and laughter. She always reflected on her sisters and loved them dearly.

After obtaining her GED, Patty pursued her passion for helping others by attending college where she studied nursing. Though she didn’t complete her degree, her time in the nursing program reflected her deep desire to care for those in need—a trait that would define much of her life. As a mother, Patty was fiercely devoted to her two children, Anthony and Danny (who was formerly known as Rachel.) Patty was the type of mother who not only cared for her own children but extended her warmth and kindness to many of their friends, becoming a second mother to those she "adopted" along the way. Patty was known for her fun, wild, and caring spirit. She had an extraordinary ability to bring joy and laughter to any gathering, always ensuring that there was music playing and dancing. Patty was truly the life of the party, and her vibrant energy was infectious. She loved to dance, listen to her favorite music, and celebrate life with those she loved. Her deep love for her family was evident in everything she did. Her generous spirit and loving nature made her beloved by all who knew her.

Despite the pain Patty endured from a car accident before moving to Ortonville, she remained compassionate, determined, and stubbornly resilient throughout her later years. Although she is no longer with us in body, her spirit endures. Now reunited with her son, Tony, she soars free, continuing her adventures in the next life “running against the wind.”

Patty is survived by her life partner of over 20 years, Mitchell “Mitch” Webster of Ortonville, MN; her beloved, Danny “Rachel” Christiansen and partner, Morgan Plathe of St. Cloud, MN; her three sisters: Cathy Christiansen, Michelle “Mickey” Erlandson, and Stephanie Pelowski; and her grandson, Avery Barnhardt. She was preceded in death by her parents: Larry and Lorna Christiansen, and her son, Tony Christiansen.
