Nellie Wentland

Funeral Services for Nellie Wentland will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Beardsley, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Pastor Paul Warnier will be officiating and burial will be in the Midway Cemetery rural Beardsley, MN.

Nellie Bell Green was born on July 13, 1915 in Foster Township, Big Stone County, MN to parents Waton and Maude (Percy) Green. Nellie was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Beardsley, MN. She grew up in Foster Township where she attended Sunnyside Country School until the 8th grade.

In 1934; Nellie was united in marriage to Edward F. Wentland in Milbank, South Dakota. To this union they were blessed with four sons: LeRoy, Dallas, Roger and Gary. They made their home in Foster Township. Edward passed away on May 10, 1962.

Nellie lived in Foster Township, where she was a homemaker and mother until 1982 when she moved to Beardsley, MN. When she retired, she babysat her grandchildren, played with her kittens and was a fantastic gardener.

Nellie was a member of the Bethlehem Ladies Aide. She had a passion for gardening; collecting dolls, and baking.

Nellie passed away on Sunday, March 06, 2011 at the Ortonville Area Health Services in Ortonville; she had lived to reach the age of 95 years.

Nellie is survived by her sons: LeRoy Wentland of Beardsley, MN, Dallas Wentland of Clinton, MN, Roger (Sandy) Wentland of Howard, SD and Gary (Deborah) Wentland of Clinton, MN; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and sister, Cynthia Gustafson of Ortonville, MN.

Nellie is preceded in death by her husband Edward F. Wentland; her parents; her brother Byron Green; and sister Laura Rintoul.
