Funeral services for former rural Revillo, SD, resident, Nathan (Nate) Darrel Woolery, age 20, of South Shore, SD, will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 18, 2006, at the American Lutheran Church in Milbank with the Reverend Craig Werling and the Reverend Janine Rew-Werling officiating. Nathan died on Tuesday, September 12, 2006, in rural South Shore. Family members are asked to meet in the church fellowship hall by 10:00 a.m. Monday to attend services. The organist will be Carol Ydstie and the soloist will be Jason Seurer. Visitation will be at the American Lutheran Church in Milbank on Sunday from 4-7 p.m., followed by a prayer service for family and friends. Visitation will continue in the church on Monday one hour before services. Honorary pallbearers will be Derek Granquist, Brandon Zubke, Jared McPhearson, Jared Berg, Jesse Johnson, Dustin Johnson, his co-workers at ESCO, Shawn Erp, Matt Lynde, Shannon Berg, Lance Berg, and all of Nate's friends and high school coaches. Active pallbearers will be Kevin Granquist, Justin Sime, Nathan Sime, Tyler Pickner, Justin Brandt, Josh Kreutner, Kaleb Bowman, and Jake Peterson. Burial will be in the Zoar Lutheran Cemetery in rural Revillo.
Nathan Darrel Woolery was born on January 6, 1986, at Dawson, Minnesota, the son of Darrel and Diane (Hoff) Woolery. He graduated from Grant-Deuel High School in Revillo in 2004. Nathan was united in marriage to Jenna R. Granquist on July 8, 2005, at the American Lutheran Church in Milbank. Following marriage, the couple lived in Watertown, SD, before moving to South Shore in August 2005. Nathan worked as a welder for ESCO in Watertown, SD.
He was a member of the Zoar Lutheran Church in rural Revillo. Nathan loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Nathan also played softball with a team in Revillo. The highlight of his high school years was when the Grant-Deuel High School football team went to the Dome in Vermillion, SD, and played for the 2003 9-B State High School Football Championship. He was also honored that year by his selection to the 9-B All-State Football Team as a linebacker.
Survivors include his wife, Jenna, and one daughter, Charlee, of South Shore, SD; his parents, Darrel and Diane, rural Revillo; his two sisters, Lacey Woolery, Aberdeen, SD, and Kelsey Woolery, rural Revillo; his paternal grandparents, Charles and Arlene Woolery, Revillo, and his maternal grandparents, Henry and Geneva Hoff, Ramona, SD; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins; his father- and mother-in-law, Mark and Theresa Granquist, Milbank; and brother-in-law, Derek Granquist, Fargo, N.D.
Nathan was preceded in death by one sister, Brandi Jo.
