Mildred Erma Peterson, the daughter of Arthur and Rose (Zadow) Olson was born March 6, 1917 near Nassau, MN on the family farm. She was baptized in Trinity Lutheran Church at Revillo, South Dakota and confirmed in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Nassau, MN. She worked outside her family home doing housework many years.
Mildred was united in marriage September 21, 1941 to Bernard R. Peterson at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Nassau, MN. They made their home on a farm outside of Odessa, MN. and farmed for three years. In 1945 they purchased a farm ten miles west of Clinton, MN. farmed until they retired in 1967, when they moved to Ortonville, MN. Bernard died May 27, 1997. In 2004 she moved to Northridge where she lived until her death Monday evening, April 27, 2009.
Her grandchildren loved her rolled out sugar cookies that she was famous for. She also enjoyed crocheting, reading and playing cards with family, friends and especially Jake and Madison. She was an avid Twins fan and never wanted to miss a game. During her stay at Northridge she enjoyed all the activities and never wanted to miss a single one.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce ( Richard) Hamann of Ortonville, MN; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 8 step-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Gene (Mary Lou) Olson of Ortonville, MN, Wayne Olson of Apache Junction, AZ; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernard; son, Daryl Peterson; sister, Pearl Nelson; brothers, Orville and Milo Olson.
