Michael Anthony Gorman was born on July 20, 1943, in Dearborn, Michigan, to parents, James and Winifred (Kerrican) Gorman.
Michael began working for himself as a seal coater of blacktop. For a few years, he lived in Big Stone City, SD, during the summer while working. In the summer of 1990, he met Diane Plath. Later, in 1997, he made Ortonville his home with Diane.
Michael cherished Diane and her family and they welcomed him with open arms. Michael had a special place in his heart for Diane's mother Myrtle, and cherished the memories they had together. Michael was truly a family-oriented person. He enjoyed spending time with his special grandchildren and they always had a smile and hug for their "Poppy." Michael treasured the friendships he made in Ortonville and the surrounding area. He will be truly missed.
Michael passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2005, at the Northridge Residence Nursing Home in Ortonville, MN, reaching the age of 62. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Winifred and one sister, Isabel. Michael is also preceded in death by his good friends, Myrtle and Eric Ninneman.
Michael is survived by four brothers, Jim, Pat, John and Ed; and one sister, Mary; as well as a very special friend, Diane Plath; her daughters, Dena (Pat) Brown, Leah Onken, and Keta (Jim) Erickson; all of "Poppy's" grandchildren, Erica Plath and special friend, Josh Kafka, Sr., Amanda Brown, Kayla Brown, Brandon Anderson, Hailey Onken, Emily Erickson, and James Erickson; one great grandchild, Joshua Kafka, Jr.; friends, Janis (Robert) Schafer; Larry (Judy) Ninneman and Duane (Maureen) Ninneman; as well as many other family members and friends.
