Mattie Knouse

Mrs. Mattie J. Knouse, age 74, of LaBolt, SD, died on Monday, December 15, 2008, at the Milbank Area Hospital/Avera Health. It was her wish that she be cremated. There will be no visitation and no service. The Emanuel-Patterson Funeral Home in Milbank is in charge of the arrangements.
Mattie was born on February 4, 1934, in Alabama, the daughter of George Washington Price and Autie Belle Sarrells. She attended school through the eighth grade in Alabama. She lived in Hawaii, Chicago, Alabama, California, and Nevada, before moving to Milbank where she lived for four years. Mattie then lived with her daughter Myra in LaBolt for the last three years of her life. While her children were growing up, she owned and operated a cleaning service for businesses.
Her life centered around her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the love of her life.
Survivors include her daughters, Myra Duffin and friend Daryl Dragt, of LaBolt, SD, and Paula Cuddeford, Paradise, CA; her son, Bobby Van Biber, Sioux Falls, SD; two grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruby Mae Price, of Alabama, and Norma Bowker, Kansas; and one brother, James Michael Price and wife Anna, of Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant son, four sisters, and three brothers.
