Mary Margret Zych was born December 12, 1925, the fifth child of Joseph and Margret Arens. Her father gave her the nickname "Margie" and that was how she was know by most people throughout her life. Margie was baptized and confirmed in St. Peters church, Dumont Minnesota. She attended elementary school in Dumont at St. Peters, and then attended high school and graduated from St. Marys Academy in Graceville.

Margie was a true farmers wife, raising her family ( a full time job itself) and at the same time, doing farm chores, milking cows, raising chickens. She was an avid gardener with a large garden every year. She always canned and froze much of what was raised in her garden and there were always tons of flowers planted everywhere too. She was an excellent cook and baker, her family and friends were never short of great things to eat. Margie was very active as a volunteer in the community, at the church, the public library in Graceville and other groups. She also worked in the public school in Graceville for a time as a cook and she and several of her friends also had a catering business.
She died October 3, 2005 at the St. Cloud Hosiptal. Margie was 79 years old at the time of her death.
Margie is survived by her husband Stanley, seven children, Thomas, James and Teresa, Sandra and husband Richard Steffes, Janet and husband Dean Menge, Joyce and husband Douglas Wilson, Wayne and wife Diane, Dale and wife Christine. Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen
