Mary Seaton

Mary Agusta (Schneider) Seaton was born on October 17, 1915, on a farm near Clinton, MN, to parents, Paul and Martha (Vigdahl) Schneider. As an infant she was baptized into the Lutheran Faith in Iowa and was later confirmed at the First English Lutheran Church in Ortonville, MN.
Mary attended school in Ortonville, MN. Upon completion of her education, she married Glenn W. Seaton on March 18, 1933. The couple made their home on a farm near Ortonville, where they were blessed with four children, Ila, Ronald, Mary Ann, and Janice.
Mary loved life on the farm and enjoyed working side by side with Glenn until his passing in 1977. She loved her children and cherished the opportunity to be a stay at home mother. Mary was very active in First English Lutheran Church, never missing until moving to Northridge Residence and always helping by teaching Sunday School for many years. She also was very active in "Day of Love" helping to organize workers to do sewing, ordering and dispersing. Mary also took pride in chairing the dish towel fundraiser held at the church.
Mary passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2007, at the Northridge Residence Nursing Home in Ortonville, MN, reaching the age of 91 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul & Martha; husband, Glenn; eight sisters, three brothers; and a son-in-law Lowell Cronen.
Mary is survived by her children, Ila "Bunny" Cronen of Bend, OR; Ronald (Sylvia) Seaton of Loveland, CO; Mary Ann Anderson of Bellevue, WA; and Janice (Harold) Groushoung of Eugene, OR; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
