Mark Heck

Mark Heck, age 61, of Graceville, MN, died on October 7, 2020.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Graceville. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Mundwiler and Larson Funeral Chapel in Graceville and will continue one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Interment will be in Graceville Consolidated Cemetery.

While maintaining social distancing guidelines, we are now able to accommodate gatherings of up to 250 people. The use of face masks by attendees is required, and we will continue taking the necessary steps to keep our facility clean. For those who prefer or require continued precautions, webcasting and/or livestreaming is available in most situations.

Mark Edwin Heck was born on May 10, 1959, in Graceville, MN, to Bart and Nella (Seifert) Heck. He was raised in the Graceville area and graduated from Graceville High School with the Class of 1978. Mark went to work doing what he loved: farming.

Mark was a quiet and simple guy. He worked hard at what he did, especially farming. He loved his dog, Bud, checking on the crops, and seeing what was going on down by the slough. Marked loved family gatherings and was often the last to leave. He enjoyed picking on the nieces and nephews. He was a jokester and loved to give everyone a nickname. Mark was a great brother, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed by the community, family, and friends.

He was faithful in his devotion to the Holy Rosary Catholic Church where he served as an usher and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He also served on the Toqua Township Board. Mark worked for John Green the last four years doing farm work and driving truck.

Mark is survived by his siblings: Mary (Paul) Geurts, Barbara Heck (JR Halverson), Robert (Nadine) Heck, Bernard (Kathy) Heck, Anita (Dave) Schmidt, Peter (Shelly) Heck, Paul (Deb) Heck, and Ann (Keith) Jorschumb; many nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; and his dog, Bud.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Catherine Heck; niece, Karen Schmidt; nephew, Riley Jorschumb; along with many aunts and uncles.
