Mark Conrad

Mark Conrad, age 63, of Wilmot, SD, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his family. 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Wilmot. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in the Wilmot Cemetery.

Mark's family asks that you dress casually as Mark was not a fancy guy. He loved to be comfortable in his Harley t-shirt.

Mark Richard Conrad was born on June 26, 1961, in Milbank, SD. He was the son of Richard and Naomi (Larson) Conrad. Mark grew up in Wilmot and graduated from Wilmot High School with the Class of 1979. He was united in marriage with Glenda Rae Wiseman on July 7, 1979, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank. They were blessed with 45 years of marriage. They resided in Wilmot where they raised their four children. Mark was a devoted husband and father who cared immensely for his family.

Mark worked at the Wilmot Elevator for 17 years. He then began his career as a truck driver and drove for over 28 years. He drove for Dedicated Logistics until 2014, then started his own company as owner/operator truck driver of Conrad Trucking. 

When Mark wasn’t working, he could be found tearing up the roads on his Harley, making beautiful custom cabinetry, cooking/grilling delicious meals, and spending time with family and friends being the jokester everyone knew and loved. Mark was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Mark was a retired member of the Wilmot Fire Department, having served for 23 years. He and Glenda spent the past few winters at their residence in Mesa, AZ.

Mark is survived by his wife, Glenda of Wilmot, SD; three daughters: Jamie (Bill) Meyer of Wilmot, SD; Jackie (Brian) Marko of Watertown, SD; and Ashley Conrad of Wilmot, SD. Six grandchildren: Halie (Colby Wollschlager) Meyer, Anthony Conrad, Braden (Bailey) Conrad, Nathaniel Meyer, Leah Meyer, and Ryley Marko; two great-grandchildren (and one on the way): Braelyn and Kyler; his parents: Richard and Naomi Conrad of Wilmot, SD; two brothers: David (Becki) Conrad, Paul (Sherry), and one sister, Deslie (Don) Holzwarth.

 He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin, in 2001, his fathers-in-law, mother-in-law, and his grandparents.
