Marian J. Johnson, age 87, of Watertown, formerly of New Effington, SD died Friday, February 11, 2011 at The Golden Living Center in Watertown, SD
Funeral Services for Marian Johnson will be on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Faith Lutheran Church in New Effington, SD Pastor Harold Watrous will be officiating and burial will be at the New Effington Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Marian Jane Johnson, the daughter of Olaf and Clara (Howg) Stageberg, was born July 4, 1923 at New Effington, South Dakota. She attended Public school at New Effington and graduated with the class of 1941. Following her graduation made her home in Chicago, Illinois, Pierre, SD, and Mpls, MN working as a secretary and bookkeeper.
Marian was united in marriage to Orrion Johnson, September 8, 1989 in Honolulu, Hawaii .They made their home in Pierre, South Dakota and Minneapolis, Minnesota and for the past 17 years have made their home in Watertown, South Dakota.
She is survived by her husband, Orrion of Watertown, South Dakota; step-son, Jerry Johnson of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Olaf and Clara; three brothers, Milton, George and Carroll and one sister, Ruth Stageberg Nelson.
