Mass of Christian Burial for Margherita "Rita" Vissat, age 63, of Angela Hall at St. William's Care Center in Milbank, will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2007, at St. William's Chapel in Milbank. Father Matthew Kowalski, OSB, will be the celebrant. Rita died on Sunday, February 25, 2007, at St. William's Care Center. Visitation will be at St. William's Chapel one hour prior to her funeral mass. Honorary pallbearers will be the Ladies of Angela Hall. Active pallbearers will be the Sisters of the Daughters of St. Mary of Providence.
Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery in Milbank.
Margherita Vissat was born on October 1, 1943, at Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of Peter L. and Rose (Episcopo) Vissat. She had been with the Sisters of the Daughters of St. Mary of Providence since the age of seven. Margherita came to Milbank from Lake Zurich, Ill., on July 25, 2002. She was a child with Down's Syndrome.
Survivors include her mother, Rose Vissat, La Grange Park, Ill.; her sisters, Maria (Donald) Nagel, Bellevue, NE, and Linda Vissat, Deltona, Fla. her brother, Peter Vissat, La Grange Park, Ill.; the ladies of Angela Hall; the Sisters of the Daughters of St. Mary of Providence in Milbank and in Lake Zurich, Ill., and the staff at St. William's Care Center.
Rita was preceded in death by her father.
