Margaret Snow went to her heavenly home on March 5, 2016, at Northridge Residence, Ortonville, MN. She was reunited with her husband, her son, her granddaughter, Rebecca Arndt; her brother, Jerome Patten; her nephew, Peter Patten; her parents…with all those she loved and went before her.
For 93 years, Margie lived a life of devotion to her family. She was a woman of faith, courage, strength and celebrated life with a grin and a giggle we will miss greatly.
Marge was born September 13, 1922, at St. Paul, MN, the eldest child of Eugene and Marion (Michaud) Patten. She was a sharp whipper snapper and took pride in the fact she skipped the seventh grade. She also took pride in being a hard worker, she fondly talked of her first job, at age 14, working at A&W Root Beer Stand.
She married the love of her life, Calvin Snow and to this union four children were born: Daniel of Ortonville, MN; Mary (Arthur) Arndt of Ortonville, MN; Stephen (deceased) and Sandra (Wallace) Lien of Redfield, SD. Marge was blessed to be a grandmother to Denise Pastorius of St. Paul Park, MN; Scott (Jodi) Arndt of Morris, MN; Lisa (Jeff) Trimble of San Diego, Ca; Michael (Angie) Arndt of Madison, MN; Arthur (Krista) Arndt of Ortonville, MN; Joshua (Crystal) Lien of Huron, SD; Jessica (Travis) Rychlik of Aberdeen, SD; and Jacob Lien of Redfield, SD; great-grandmother of 27 and great-great-grandmother of two. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Marian Patten of Sun City, AZ as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Margie worked the majority of her career as a payroll clerk at Miller Hospital which became United Hospitals in St. Paul. She advanced to Payroll Supervisor and her leadership was valued for many many years. During her work years and into retirement she loved to fish, play cards, and watch the Minnesota Twins and Vikings games.
