Maralyn Powlish

Maralyn Powlish, age 88 of Graceville died January 25, 2016, at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 29 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Graceville. Father David Breu will officiate and burial will be in the Consolidated Cemetery. Visitation will be at Mundwiler and Larson Funeral Home in Graceville on Thursday beginning at 5 p.m. followed by a Scripture Service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Friday, one hour prior to the Mass.

Casket bearers will be her grandchildren: Melissa Washnesky, Corey Powlish, Matthew Powlish, Amy Powlish, Christa Gary, Ashley Powlish and Bruce Powlish. Honorary bearers will be: Elsie Steffan, Frank Guenther, Butch Doll, Ella Anderson, Kenny Andrews, Bernadine Kirkey, Addie Taffe, and Mary Ann Chaulpnik. Music will be provided by Deb Farwell, organist; and vocalists: Deb Stueve, Sandy Bauer, Chris Weick, and Jean Costello.

Maralyn Adeline (Moeller) Powlish was born December 24, 1927, in Wheaton, MN. She was the daughter of Arthur Henry Moeller and Loretta Sophia (Baumgartner) Moeller. She attended Wheaton High School. She was united in marriage with Vincent Frank Powlish on September 18, 1951, at St. Peter's Church in Dumont, MN.

Prior to marriage Maralyn worked at the Red Owl Grocery Store in Wheaton. Later, she was a cook for the Graceville school system, and a waitress at Toqua Cafe in Graceville. Maralyn was a loving homemaker. Her family will always remember her wonderful cooking and baking. She adored her family and was always available to help or just lend a listening ear. She treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and looked forward to their visits. She enjoyed gardening vegetables and flowers. Playing cards, Yahtzee, or jigsaw puzzles were favorite pastimes. She was a faithful member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Veronica Powlish of Osakis, MN; twin sons: Vincent (Jill) Powlish of Graceville, MN and Vern (Karla) Powlish of Graceville, MN; seven grandchildren: Melissa (Jesse) Washnesky, Corey (Brittney) Powlish, Matthew (Katie) Powlish, Amy Powlish, Christa (Seth) Gary, Ashley Powlish and Bruce (Jenny) Powlish; two great-grandchildren: Logan and Marc; four brothers: Mervyn Moeller; Marlo (Joyce) Moeller; Loran (Martha) Moeller; and Arlin (Lorraine) Moeller; a brother-in-law, Henry Powlish; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Ledman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Powlish; her parents: Art and Loretta Moeller; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Frank and Agnes Powlish; brother-in-law, Wayne Ledman; sister-in-law, Lois Moeller and a great-grandchild, Kaden Gary.
