Malinda "Lindy" Belgum was born on June 27, 1904 in Agassiz Township, Bellingham, MN to Gustav and Ernestine (Floeter) Roehl. Lindy grew up and attended school in Bellingham. After graduating from high school, she attended the West Central Ag School where she graduated in 1924.



On November 05, 1925, Lindy was united in marriage to Syver Belgum in Appleton, MN. They made their home in Ortonville and had one son, Roger. Lindy worked at JC Penny's and Habicht's department store until her retirement. In 1995, Lindy became a resident at Northridge.



Lindy was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Rebecca Circle. She was also an active member of the Eastern Star, Business & Professional Women and a volunteer at Northridge Residence. She was honored for 75 years of service by the American Legion Aux.



Lindy and Syver shared 71 years of marriage. Her greatest joy was time spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great children. Along with her community involvement she had many fond memories of family gatherings and playing cards at their cabin on Big Stone Lake.



On January 03, 2005, Lindy passed away at Northridge Residence in Ortonville reaching the age of 100 years, 5 months, and 25 days.



Survivors include Lindy's two granddaughters, Mary (Marlyn) Wiese of Gilbert, AZ and Marcy (Jon) Fellows of Ortonville, MN; three great grandchildren, Kate (Matt) McKinney of Marlow, OK and Christopher and Matthew Fellows of Ortonville, MN; two great-great grandchildren, Natalie and Jacob McKinney of Marlow, OK; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.



She was preceded in death by her parents, Gustav and Ernestine Roehl; her husband, Syver Belgum; her brothers and sister; one son, Roger; and one daughter-in-law, Jean.
