Memorial services for Lucille McFarland, age 85, of rural Milbank, will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 1st, at the Emanuel-Patterson Funeral Home in Milbank. Reverend N. Craig Werling will officiate. The soloist will be Deb Rausch. Mrs. McFarland died on Wednesday, April 28th, at the Northridge Residence in Ortonville, MN.
There will be no visitation. Burial will be in the Milbank City Cemetery.
Lucille was born on June 8, 1924, on a farm in Yellow Bank Township, Lac qui Parle County, MN, to Jacob and Augusta (Schellberg) Neuschwander.
She attended country school through the eighth grade.
Lucille married Duane McFarland on September 12, 1942, at Ortonville, MN. Following marriage, the couple made their home on a farm in Alban Township, Grant County, SD. Her husband, Duane, died on March 14, 1980. Lucille continued to live on the farm until entering the Northridge Residence on December 29, 2009.
Survivors include her four children: Linda Hamann and husband Richard, Rogers, MN; Victor McFarland and wife Bette, rural Milbank; Gwen Meyer, Hendricks, MN; and Glen McFarland, rural Milbank; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Lorene Robertson, Ortonville, MN, and Ocie Neuschwander, Tribune, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Duane, and four brothers.
