Memorial Services for Lowell Danielson will be held in the spring.
Lowell Owen Danielson was born to parents Oscar and Clara (Bacon) Danielson on August 15, 1925 in Dawson, MN. In 1931, he moved with his family to a farm near Ortonville. Lowell attended rural school until the 8th grade; he then continued his education at Ortonville High School, graduating with the class of 1943. Lowell wanted to go onto college, but funds were not available. He also wanted to serve in the Military during World War II, but, due to a physical disability, he was not able to do so.
Lowell was employed on farms in his younger years. Because his mother was a widow, Lowell helped out at home. Lowell was never married. He worked as a flax straw buyer and foreman for Archer Daniels Midland Company and Olin Corporation. In 1987, Lowell moved from the family farm to a home in Ortonville.
Lowell enjoyed writing poetry. He really received great pleasure from nature and the beauty of the creatures. Through the years, dogs and cats were his loving companions.
Lowell passed away on Friday, February 18, 2011 at his home in Ortonville, MN; he lived to reach the age of 85 years.
Lowell is survived by his sisters: Linnea Carlson of Columbia Heights, MN and Diane Danielson of Ortonville, MN; and many nieces. His beloved cats will miss him, especially Skeeter.
Lowell is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Dean, Eugene, Paul and Donald; and two sisters: Delphie and Dorothy.
