Louise Ulrich

December 20, 1922 — February 9, 2006

Louise M. Ulrich was born on December 20, 1922 in Hankinson, ND to parents Emil and Anna (Neumann) Wallmann. She was baptized and confirmed at the Emmanuel Evangelical Reformed Church in Hankinson. Louise also attended school in Hankinson and graduated in 1941.



On March 16, 1952, Louise married Silas Ulrich at the Emmanuel Evangelical Reformed Church in Hankinson, ND. They lived on his father?s farm for thirteen years, then they sold the farm in 1965 and moved to Breckinridge, MN where they lived until 1975. They then moved to Appleton, MN and lived there until 1979 when they moved to Ortonville, MN where they have lived together ever since. While in Ortonville, they joined the United Methodist Church in Ortonville, MN and have been devoted parishioners ever since. Louise was a woman committed to her faith, she constantly read her bible and shared her faith with others.



Louise liked gardening, canning and freezing fruits and vegetables and reading. She was a member of the Home Makers Club where she learned how to make baskets and was also a circle member as well as a member of the Birthday Club. Louise also enjoyed boating, fishing, and flying with Si in his airplane, especially taking pictures of certain farmsteads from the air. She also liked snowmobiling, riding a bicycles built for two, and even motorcycle rides with Si.



Louise returned to God on February 9, 2006 at the Ortonville Hospital in Ortonville, MN. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Emil and Anna Wellmann; two sisters, Loretta Wallmann and Melvie Johnson; one brother, Melvin Wellmann; and two brothers in law, Robert Raeder and Leon Johnson.



Louise is survived by her loving husband, Silas Ulrich; three sisters, Edline Raeder of Breckenridge, MN, Carol Schmidt of Hankinson, ND and Shirley Johnson of Wheaton, MN; one brother, Carl Wallman of Hankinson, ND; and two brothers in law, Luverne Schmidt and Lowell Johnson.
