Lois E. Zacharias, the daughter of Thom and Julia (Eggebratten) Anderson was born June 4, 1921 in Madison, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Ortley. Lois attended country school in Ortley.
In 1938 she moved with her parents to the Browns Valley area and resided there until her passing.
She met and was united in marriage to Carl Zacharias, May 30, 1941. She dedicated her life to family and became a full-time homemaker. She enjoyed baking, gardening, reading and handi-work. She also enjoyed playing the harmonica, doing crosswords and was an avid Vikings fan.
Throughout her life, her greatest enjoyment was the time she spent with family and friends.
She is survived by son, Jerome (Shirley) Zacharias of Rapid City, S.D; daughter Barbara (Lance) Nielsen of Watertown , S.D.; grandchildren, Shane Nielsen, Brian Zacharias, Shelley (Mark) Souers, Tammy (Mark) Rasmussen, Sherry Nielsen, Thomas (Katrina) Zacharias; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Arlen Anderson of Lyle, WA; sister, Evelyn Maxey Minneapolis, MN; brother-in-law, Howard Baker; sisters-in-law Mildred Anderson, Evelyn Zacharias; many nieces and nephews; and very special friends Harold Berneking, Betty Gaulrapp.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; grandson, Ricky Nielsen; step-daughter, Amelia Stalinsky;6 brothers and 5 sisters.
