Linda Tolzda, age 70, of Ortonville, MN, passed away on November 28, 2020, at Fairway View Neighborhoods.
Funeral services for Linda will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at New Life Community Baptist Church in Ortonville. Pastor Philip Ostlund will officiate the service.
Linda Lee Tolzda was born on December 9, 1949, in Highland Park, IL, to Robert and Leona (Rochkes) Wakeford. She grew up in different areas of Wisconsin including Union Grove and Kansasville.
On June 28, 1966, Linda was united in marriage with Alexander Tolzda at Union Grove United Methodist Church. Linda worked in retail until she married and had her three children. When her youngest child was old enough to be in school, Linda became a certified nursing assistant and began working in the nursing home. She loved her job as a mother and later as a care provider for the elderly. Linda was very dear to the residents she worked with. She had to quit working as a CNA for a while to help take care of her parents when their health no longer allowed them to live independently. In 2009, Linda and Al moved to Ortonville and made their home on a farm just outside of town.
Linda had a very strong faith in her Lord and was very active in her church. She enjoyed Bible studies, served on the Mission Committee, and made her famous bread for the Ministry and Service Committee to give to people in the community. Her faith was so strong, she would even give small sermons to her friends, family, and the occasional deer that wandered through her yard.
Linda loved to go antiquing and collected many treasures through the years. She had a vast collection of dolls with porcelain hands and faces. Linda enjoyed playing Skip-Bo with Al and they wore out more than seven decks of cards! She loved fishing whenever she had the opportunity and looked forward to evening drives looking for deer. In her earlier years, Linda would can everything her garden produced and was a fantastic cook. Linda was an incredible mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family meant the world to her and she enjoyed as much time with them as she could get.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years, Al Tolzda of Ortonville, MN; children: Mark Tolzda of Racine, WI; Kimberly (Douglas) Brehm of Union Grove, WI; and Heather (Dale) Olson of Burlington, WI; grandchildren: Kayla Tolzda, Kaitlyn Olson, Thomas Olson, and Shawn Brehm; and great-grandchildren: Liam and Reign.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents.
