Lily Emma was born on June 5th, 1913 to parents Hugo and Edith (Goetsch) Nitz in Odessa, MN. Lily attended country school near Rosen, MN in Walter Township.
On June 26, 1940, Lily was united in marriage to Harry Loeschke at the Town Walter Church. To this marriage three sons were born: Roger, Melvin, and Kenneth.
Lily loved sewing dresses and drapes. She enjoyed being a "farm wife",which consisted of milking the cows and gardening. Lily enjoyed fishing, spending time outdoors, and playing cards. Lily was a Sunday school teacher for 30 years and was part of the church choir. She was also an officer of the Lutheran Womens League.
On August 20, 2004, Lily passed away at Beverly Health Care Center in Milbank, SD. She reached the age of 91 years, 2 months, and 15 days.
Survivors include her husband, Harry Loeschke of Milbank, SD; three sons, Roger (Ann) Loeschke of Milbank, SD, Melvin (Florence) Loeschke of Ortonville, MN, and Kenneth (Leanne) Loeschke of Rapid City, SD; one sister, Hertha Nitz of Madison, MN; seven grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.
Lily was preceded in death by her parents, Hugo and Edith (Goetsch) Nitz; and three sisters, Agnes Nitz, Evelyn Schultz, and Emma Nitz.
