Lawrence “Larry” Biel, age 65, of Morris, MN, formerly of Browns Valley, MN, passed away on March 24, 2021, in Fargo, ND.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Browns Valley. Father Gregg Frankman will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be at St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 30, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Mundwiler and Larson Funeral Home in Browns Valley. A scripture service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Casket bearers will be all of Larry’s friends.
While maintaining social distancing guidelines, we are now able to gather for visitations and services. The use of face masks by attendees is required, and we will continue taking the necessary steps to keep our facility clean. For those who prefer or require continued precautions, webcasting and/or livestreaming will be viewable below this obituary.
Lawrence Allen Biel was born on December 10, 1955, in Browns Valley, MN. He was the son of Otis and Deloris Ann (Spindler) Biel. Larry grew up on the family farm south of Browns Valley. He attended school in Browns Valley.
Larry worked at Goodhart’s Blacksmith Shop for a few years. He worked as a farmhand for several neighbors. He truly enjoyed farming alongside his brother, Dan, for many years.
Larry treasured his family. He took wonderful care of his parents during their elderly years. He adored and loved visiting with his great-nephew, Alexander and his great-niece, Evelyn. Larry loved animals of all kinds! He collected many animal figurines and proudly displayed them. He also loved to garden and enjoyed flowers.
Most recently, Larry resided in Morris, MN. He worked a variety of jobs and had many dear friends. He faithfully attended Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Morris.
Left to cherish his memory are two brothers: Dan Biel (Rosa Schuelke) of Wilmot, SD; and Robert (Sandy) Biel of Browns Valley, MN; several nieces and nephews; uncle, Leo Spindler of Browns Valley, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents: Otis and Deloris; and one brother, Jerry.
