LaVonne Mae was born on March 18, 1933 in Westbrook, MN to parents Ewald and Agnes (Ankrum) Ewy. LaVonne was baptized on May 28, 1933 in Westbrook, MN. She attended school in Westbrook through the eighth grade. LaVonne lived on the family farm until 27 years old when she married and moved to Amiert, MN.
On October 29, 1960 LaVonne was united in marriage to Bob Layman in Westbrook, MN. Before they started their family LaVonne enjoyed bowling and motorcycling trips. They lived in Amiert until February of 1977 when the family moved to Graceville. She worked at Holy Trinity Hospital for many years in housekeeping. Upon retirement, LaVonne cleaned elderly individual homes on a part-time basis. Also was the cleaning lady for the local library for many years.
LaVonne enjoyed playing cards, garage saling, shopping, visiting with friends and relatives, attending children and grandchildren sporting events and concerts.
On Thursday, August 04, 2005 LaVonne Layman passed away at Grace Home in Graceville, MN, reaching the age of 72 years.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Layman; daughter Linda Layman of St. Cloud, MN and boyfriend Dennis Murray of Graceville, MN; son and daughter-in-law Curt and Donna Layman of Graceville; granddaughters Chelsea and Ashley Layman of Graceville and grandson Derek Patterson of Clinton.
Preceding LaVonne in death were her parents Ewald and Agnes Ewy; father and mother-in-law Earl and Della Layman; and son Kevin Layman.
