Larry Anderson

Larry Gene Anderson the son of Harry and Emmy (Andersen) Anderson born in Morris, MN, January 24, 1939. He was raised on the family farm near Chokio, MN. He attended country school at District #48 through the eighth grade. He worked as a farm laborer for area farmers.



Larry was united in marriage to Wilma Stephenson March 31, 1962 at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Odessa, MN, by Pastor Going. They made their home on a farm near Chokio, MN and were blessed with three daughters, Sandy, Debbie and Tammy. While the girls were growing up a Sunday family activity was road hunting gophers. In 1989 Larry and Wilma moved to Clinton, MN. In 1992 Larry started work at the Clinton Ag Service until his retirement in 2001.



Larry loved to hunt bear, deer, geese, ducks and pheasants. He also enjoyed taking his grandsons hunting and fishing. Larry had a garden he enjoyed working in and giving vegetables to neighbors. Larry was good at training dogs and horses. The latest trained dog’s home is now at the Rick and Sandy Paulsen farm. You could find Larry out driving around enjoying all the wildlife.



Larry was also known to give his friends and neighbors a rough time. He loved people and enjoyed their company especially these last weeks. Larry was known for his love of country music, his favorite was Johnny Cash. His friends have had various names for him such as “Larry Linton from east of Clinton”, “The Great White Hunter” and “The Mountain Man”



He is survived by: wife, Wilma of Clinton, MN; daughters, Sandy (Rick) Paulsen of Graceville, MN, Debbie Wilson of Montevideo, MN, Tammy Hoxtell of Albany, MN; 8 grandchildren Brady, Cody, Ashley, Shelby Paulsen; Zachary and Carly Wilson; Megan and Mitchell Hoxtell; 4 brothers, Dewillis (Barb) Anderson of Ortonville, MN, Delhart (Elvira) Anderson of Chokio, MN, Norman (Mary) Anderson of Clinton, MN, Richard (Connie) Anderson of Ortonville, MN; sisters: Joyce Gillespie of Alexandria, MN, Jane Gillespie of Clinton, MN, Susan (Benny) Wohlers of Graceville, MN, Bonnie (Tom) Connelly of Sparta, KY; and several nieces and nephews.



He is preceded in death by: his parents, Harry and Emmy; granddaughter, Brittany Paulsen; brother, Jerry Anderson.
